Monetization Targeting
A procedure where a search engine that monetizes their traffic using Pay For Include (PFI) targets sites in their index for revenue generation. Popular sites with a large number of listings are deleted from the search engine's index so that the search engine can extract payment from those sites to be re-included in the index. Sites that don't cooperate with the scheme are banned out of existence.
